HAL slates two culinary cruises
Chefs, bartenders and wine experts from Seattle and surrounding environs will be featured on two cruises of Holland America Line this year, the first started in February on a 15-day winter Panama Canal crossing on the ms Volendam.
During the cruises, which are presented in conjunction with Food & Wine magazine HAL will make us of the Culinary Arts Center for events, cooking demonstrations and tastings.
The second cruise with Seattle names will be aboard the ms Zuiderdam in November, leaving on a seven-day itinerary out of Fort Lauderdale.
Professionals part of the Seattle culinary cruises by HAL are: Seisuke Kamimura, executive chef of BOKA restaurant and bar; Holly Turner a winemaker from Three Rivers Winery in Walla Walla, Washington: Thierry Rautureau, owner of Rover’s restaurant in Seattle, Ryan Thomas Magarian, master mixologist at Katy Casey Food Studios/Liquid Kitchen; Philip Mihalski, executive chef and owner of Nell’s Restaurant in Seattle and; Fran Bigelow, founder of Ran’s Chocolates.
This is the second year that HAL has brought guests to its Culinary Arts Center, which is now aboard all 13 of its ships. The Arts Centers are equipped with a theater-style seating venue and plasma televisions for demonstrations and classes.
