Alpha gets contracts at two airports
East Midlands Airport and Bournemouth Airport are both under seven-year contracts that combined could bring in more than £150 million (US$200 million) for Alpha Flight Services.
The larger by far of the two is East Midlands where the airport is undergoing a significant redevelopment in the passenger terminal. There, Alpha will refit the existing units and spruce up the duty free shop, news outlet, bookshop and food hall. Alpha will spend approximately £2 million (US$4 million) to improve the 11,500 square foot space. Construction will start in April and continue through the summer.
At Bournemouth, Alpha plans to spend £400,000 (US$783,000) to develop a new store within the terminal. Alpha will start with approximately 1,200 square feet of retail space with a goal to expand the offering to 3,000 square feet.
