SAS moves lounge communication to next step
People using Scandinavian Airlines lounges will not only be able to surf they Internet, but will be able to place telephone calls for free on the airline’s IP telephony through high-speed Internet connections.
SAS is working with a company called Sidewalk Express on the connections at its lounges. Sidewalk Express was started in Sweden in early 2001 and is the leading chain with Internet points in the country.
Users of the system access phone coverage through a company called Skype. Calls are placed on wide screen with high-speed Internet connections.
