Bangkok Catering moves ahead at Suvarnabhumi
As the new Bangkok airport moves out of its startup stages, airlines are picking up service, and caterers are picking customers.
Linus Knobel, managing director at Bangkok Air Catering recently announced that Pakistan International Airways is the unit’s newest customer on flights out of Suvarnabhumi.
PIA joins nine other carriers, and Bangkok Airways as the caterer’s customers thus far. Knobel says the unit is currently producing approximately 10,000 meals per day and could increase that amount by 25 percent this year. “And the key to achieve this target is finding three new major airlines,” he says.
Bangkok Air Catering has picked up additional work with hospitality lounges for Bangkok Airways, Emirates, Cathay Pacific Airways and Air France.
