Iberia turns wine selection over to TodoVino

In the second year of the collaboration, Iberia announced in February that Business Plus Class wines will be picked with more input from the Spanish wine guide publisher TodoVino.

Each year TodoVino puts together a complete look at Spanish wines after approximately 5,000 samples. Iberia officials say that the airline would like to make use of the “same philosophy that informs the compliers of La Guia TodoVino.”

The airline has been working with TodoVino for one year. Each month, Iberia boards Sommelier Recommendations by Custodio Zamarra of the Zalacain Restaurant in Madrid. In Iberia’s inflight magazine Ronda, the monthly pick is highlighted with the histories and taste properties. On the ground, the wine is available in the Dali and Velazquez lounges at Madrid-Barajas Airport’s Terminal 4 where passengers can obtain a copy of La Ravist TodoVino, the monthly magazine of wines, winemakers and trends in the industry.

Iberia re-launched its new Business Plus service in 2005 with new seats, air-to-ground telephone, SMS and e-mail.
