KLM partners with Tokyo hotel group

World Business Class and economy class cabins on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to Japan will have a meal service designed by Master Chef Akira Oshima of the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam.

KLM has also added tableware from Noitake on its Japanese routes. The airline has also added a number of onboard enhancements from Japan, including video and audio programs, newspapers and magazines. The airline has also hired an all-Japanese crew for the routes.

The new meal service started in January 1 on the route from Amsterdam to Tokyo and later on routes to Kobe and Osaka.

The airline has a long history of service to the region, introducing a number of route-specific services dating back to the mid-1950s. The airline also has route-specific services on flights to China, India and Korea.
