SAS upgrades enhanced economy class
Starting in February, Scandinavian Airlines added a new selection of starters and desserts along with a larger meal tray and Orrefors brand wine glass and a larger second meal service as part of its Economy Extra Class on long-haul service.
“We are continuously reviewing our product offerings and we felt it was natural to upgrade certain in-flight aspects,” said Gunill Ait El Mekki, director of product concepts at SAS. “We have focused both on the quantity and quality of food as well as how we present it.”
In addition to superior food service, Economy Extra on SAS includes a business class check-in, wider and more comfortable seats, audio and video on demand and a dedicated cabin staff.
SAS introduced Economy Extra in 2002. Food service includes a pre-departure drink, a three course dinner, cold snacks between meals and a meal before landing.
