Chinese Railways in search of caterer
Chinese Railways will enter the sixth phase of its complex and vast high speed network starting in April and is searching for a “leading food production and delivery enterprises” from inside and outside the country to provide meal service.
The railroad distributed the announcement at the ITCA Asia Conference last week in Shanghai. Chinese Railways plans seven new high speed routes with trains operating at 200 kmh. High speed trunk lines will be Beijing-Harbin, Beijing-Shanghai, Beijing-Guangzhou, Beijing-Jiulong, Liannyungang-Lanzhou, Hangzhou-Zhuzhou, Lanzhou-Urumqui, Guangzhou-Shenzhou and Jiaozhou-Jinan.
Passenger traffic on the Chinese Railways is approximately 1.1 billion people per year. Officials expect that total to increase 18 percent with the new high speed service.
When completed China Railways plans to have 416 high speed trains, and 86 EMU high speed trains crisscrossing the country along with its line of 1,500 regular speed trains.
