Qantas revamps economy cabin

New seats from Recaro are part of the new premium economy class cabin on 747-400s and the A380 on Qantas Airways.

Passengers will be able to enjoy the new wide screen television monitor and laptop power next year when the service officially launches. In premium economy, passengers will be able to enjoy a self-service bar with meals and drinks throughout the flight. Seat pitch will be 42 inches. They will also feast on Neil Perry designed meals with a selection of premium wines, new tableware and furnishings.

On the ground, they will have a dedicated check-in area. The service will first be found on flights from Australia to London, Hong Kong and Johannesburg next February. More will be added when Qantas receives the first of its A380s.

The cabin will be on the main deck of the 747 and in upper deck of the A380. Both classes will seat 32 passengers.
