China Airlines adds organic rice, gourmet pork

Authentic Taiwanese meals were the goal of China Airlines as it signed a new contract with the Taiwan Sugar Corporation for steamed organic rice and Matsukata pork.

The airline is focusing first on its popular service to Japan adding the products on all its flight, except to Okinawa. The steamed organic rice also available on some of the trans-Pacific and European flights.

The organic rice, called Taigen 9, is grown in Yulin County in Taiwan and took seven years to develop, says China Airlines. The Matsukata pork is taken from the neck of the pig which amounts to only 250 grams of lean, prime meat.

In addition to the new food products, China Airlines is distributing gifts of butterfly orchids also produced by TSC. They are in a gift box and available for home delivery.
