Princess plans dining enhancements

The two new Princess Cruises ships debuting this month will have all new fare in the dining room, improved buffet service, new cuisine choices in alternative restaurants and a number of other special touches, the line reported in April.

The Emerald Princess and the Royal Princess represent a “significant re-design of our dining experience” says Peter Tobler, vice president of food and beverage operations at Princess, in an announcement of the enhancements. The changes were made under the direction of Alfredo Marzi, a 35-year veteran of the cruise line industry.

Princess is adding more choice in the dining room and bringing in a range of ethnic influences and lighter fare bearing the cruise line’s Lotus Spa insignia. Princess has added its menu with an afternoon cookies and milk break with fresh baked cookies and in-cabin pizza delivery.

Princess plans a series of Pan-Asian fusion dishes, Mediterranean and Latin American specialties and a greater selection of breads. New leather menus and tableware round out the changes in the two new ships.
