Emphasis to launch Flights of Fancy
in Philippine Airlines

Emphasis media in Hong Kong will publish the Flights of Fancy entertainment guide for Philippine Airlines starting in May.

The publication will be printed monthly and will have movie listings and entertainment news.

Philippine Airlines operates a network of 28 international flights and service to 18 domestic destinations.

Philippine Airlines announced a major overhaul of its five 747-400 and four A340-300 long haul aircraft. Budgeted at approximately of PHP3.5 billion (over US$80 million), the renovation of its wide body fleet will be marked by the reconfiguration from three-class to two-class layouts. The upgrades will be implemented in phases beginning in June 2008, and the entire program is targeted for completion by early-2009.

The new interiors were designed by an in-house team, and will evoke the Philippine coast in both color and accent. Germany-based Recaro is supplying the new “cocoon” seats that boast a 60-inch pitch and also convert to flat beds, an almost standard feature in business class on almost every major airline now.

A full story on Philippine Airlines and its upgrade can be found in the March/April issue of PAX International.
