Gate Gourmet teams with IFS for duty free
on Norwegian Air Shuttle
Shortly after Gategroup announced its expanded agreement with Norwegian Air Shuttle, the company announced that it would be working with another firm as a partner for the carrier’s onboard duty free sales.
Gate Gourmet has chosen Inflight Service Europe AB, known as IFS, to do the duty free pre-pack business. IFS will work with Gate Gourmet to develop sales across the carrier’s system.
Earlier in March, Gate Gourmet signed an extended contract for food, beverage and duty free sales with Norwegian Air Shuttle.
Norwegian Air Shuttle has worked with Gate Gourmet since its startup in 2002. The airline has buy-on-board food service and operates 140 routes with a fleet of 27 737s and eight MD80s, the latter operate under the FlyNordic logo. Norwegian Air Shuttle purchased FlyNordic, and the remaining aircraft will be rebranded next month.
